We are walking in memory of our father, Rich Strayer, who passed away on July 23, 2008. He was diagnosed with ALS in January of 2007.  He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Evelyn; daughters, Kathy (Tom) Schomer, Julie (Scott) Olivett, and Sara (Mike) McCoy; grandchildren, Nathan, Aaron, Anna, Edward, Evan and Andrew; and one great grandchild, Alexis.

He was born, raised and educated in Nebraska.  After serving in the Air Force he worked as an engineer and a variety of other careers prior to working as a computer consultant.  He willingly shared his passion and knowledge of computers, spanning over 50 years, to help others. He was active in the Lakeside Kiwanis Club and Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He was an avid licensed ham radio operator and Cornhusker alumnus.

Our father was a wonderful example of a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed his family.  He was a Godly man who lived his faith daily. He modeled a life of integrity filled with kindness and compassion.  We will miss him and his amazing bear hugs, but are comforted knowing that he got the BEST bear hug of all - the one from our Lord and Savior as He welcomed him into heaven saying, "well done my good and faithful servant".
